As a small police department promotional
opportunities are limited. Administrative staff consists of the chief
of police, lieutenant and patrol sergeant. Promotions within the
union include our detective position.
We have many opportunities for officers though.
We have one officer assigned to the detective bureau for a two-year
period, then reassigned back to the patrol bureau. We have one
officer assigned as our court/property officer working Monday-Friday
day shift. Other available positions include; K9 officer, field
training officer, evidence technician, Crime Prevention Through
Environmental Design officer, and various training instructor
positions. Each officer is assigned a neighborhood as a neighborhood
liaison officer.
