 Applicant Ride alongs

Applicants are encouraged to schedule a ride along to learn more about the police department.  We view the hiring process to be a two-part process.  One part is for the police department to find the best qualified candidate(s).  The second part is for the applicant to determine if the Town of Madison Police Department is where you want to start, continue or end your career.  We encourage you to talk with Town of Madison Police officers, other Town employees, Town residents and business owners or other Dane County police officers to learn more about the Town of Madison Police Department.

To schedule a ride along, please read our ride along policy and complete the ride along form.  Please indicate you are an applicant.  During the hiring process we will normally not schedule any citizen ride along to assure applicants have first availability.  All applicant ride alongs are scheduled by Sgt. Gehn.  Please read the ride along policy, complete the form and forward the request to Sgt. Gehn at 2120 Fish Hatchery Road, Madison, WI 53713, fax to 608-210-7237, or via email to gehnm@town.madison.wi.us.
