Using Wisconsin Civil Service Exam Centers

In association with Wisconsin Civil Service, exams are administered 12 times each year, at 8:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month in 14 communities statewide. WI Personnel Partners will notify applicants of the date, time and location of the examination approximately 10 calendar days before the exam. Within 10 working days after the exam, WI Personnel Partners will send the Town of Madison Police Department alphabetical and rank-ordered lists of applicant scores.

Make-Up Exam Centers are Available

Consideration is given to applicants unable to attend normal exam dates due to religious belief, military duty or an unavoidable personal crisis. Applicants may test on the following Monday at 5:00 p.m. Make-up centers are held in Eau Claire, Green Bay, Madison, and Milwaukee only.  To register, the applicant may call an automated line at (608) 266-3637. The exam time and location is provided on this recording. If military duty prevents the applicant from testing on either of the dates Town of Madison Police Department approval is required to arrange an alternate date, before scheduled exam date.

Accommodations for People with Disabilities

With Town of Madison Police Department written approval, WI Personnel Partners will provide reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.  However, WI Personnel Partners recommend that the disability and type of  accommodation required should be verified by a physician or qualified professional.  Available accommodations include a reader, a writer, an American Sign Language interpreter, and tables to accommodate wheel chairs.  At least 10 days notice prior to the exam date is required.  We have a form available for special accommodations that you are more than welcome to use (Special Accommodation Form).
