Field Training Unit

The Field Training Program is a very intensive training period that is focused on ensuring probationary officers have the requisite skills to effectively perform the duties required of a Town of Madison police officer.  Probationary Officers are under the strict supervision of your assigned field training officer, and a field training supervisor.  Probationary officers will receive detailed written and oral evaluations.

The field training process used by the Town of Madison Police Department is nationally accepted and is designed to enable probationary officers to make the transition from the police academy classroom environment to applying their skills in real life situations of Town of Madison law enforcement officer.

The field training process is intended to provide the probationary officer with instruction, direction, supervision, guidance, and experience to assist them in applying critical skills in a variety of situations encountered in municipal law enforcement.

Our Field Training Unit consists of:
-Sergeant

-Officer David Parks

-Officer Robert Anderson

-Officer Jessica Fischer
