Details of Incident:

On 08/19/2005 at 8:48 p.m. Arnold C. Thompson was taken into custody following surveillance beginning at 2709 Pheasant Ridge Trail. Thompson was followed from Pheasant Ridge Trail to the Open Pantry Store located at 2504 Rimrock Road in the Town of Madison.

Numerous Town of Madison Police Officers arrested Thompson as he was stopped at the gas station preparing to fuel a vehicle. Thompson was taken into physical custody safely and without incident. Thompson was accompanied by another individual whom was detained and subsequently released at the scene.

The arrest stems from an incident on 08/14/2005 when Thompson had stabbed his father.

Thompson was booked into the Dane County Jail on a charge of Attempted - 1^st Degree Intentional Homicide. He was also booked into the jail on a felony probation warrant which was active prior to the stabbing.
