Details of Incident:

On 04/22/06 the Town of Madison Police responded to12/18 W. Beltline (westbound) between Todd Dr. & Seminole Hwy for a report of a traffic accident. Upon arrival Officers located a vehicle pinned up against a tree in a culvert. Inside the vehicle Officers observed one occupant in the vehicle, which was the driver. The driver was pinned inside the vehicle and was injured. The investigation revealed this was a one-car accident however a separate accident occurred at the same location as a result of traffic congestion. The driver was a 17-year-old male Verona High School student. The Town of Madison Fire Department using the Jaws of Life extricated the driver. After extrication the driver was transported to a local emergency room for lacerations and possible internal injuries. The driver is currently listed in stable condition. The cause of the accident is under investigation however speed and alcohol may be factors. The driver’s identity is not released at this time due to notification of family members.
