Details of Incident:

On January 13, 2006 at 2:24 pm Town of Madison officers responded to a crash on the W. Beltline Hwy at Seminole Hwy Bridge. A semi carrying a large coal shovel was higher than the bridge and hit the bridge causing major damage to the bridge.

Two other vehicles were damaged by falling cement; no injuries were reported.

A State of WI DOT Bridge Maintenance & Inspection Engineer determined the Seminole Hwy Bridge to be closed indefinitely. Dane County Hwy has barricaded the bridge. One lane of the W. Beltline Hwy will remain closed until January 14, 2006.

The WI State Patrol will handle any enforcement action taken against the driver and/or company.
