Details of Incident:

On April 23, 2007 the Town of Madison Police Department conducted a concentrated speed enforcement event on the W. Beltline Hwy. The purpose of these events is to reduce the speed and aggressive driving on the W. Beltline Hwy in an effort to reduce the severity of crashes and the number of crashes on this roadway.

A total of 37.5 hours of staffing time was spent on this effort with eight officers and one civilian assigned. At total of 58 traffic stops were conducted with 58 citations and 6 written warnings issued. A total of 53 citations were issued for speeding, 2 safety belt citations, 2 OAR/OAS citations, and 1 vehicle registration citation.
