Details of Incident:

On February 23, 2007 at approximately 3:15 am, the Town of Madison Police developed information that Chancy, who was a suspect in a number of armed robberies throughout the Dane County area, was in an apartment in the 300 block of Coyier Lane.

An officer observed a subject matching Chancy’s physical description enter a common hallway at 320 Coyier Lane. Officers immediately set up a perimeter. Mutual aid was requested from the city of Madison, Dane County Sheriff and the Dane County Tactical Response Team.

Chancy displayed a handgun during the armed robberies he is suspected of committing. A search warrant was obtained to enter 320 Coyier Lane #7. Phone contact was made with Chancy, he eventually exited the apartment, was contacted by police and arrested without incident.
