The name of the deceased driver is not being released until the family has been notified.
The front seat passenger, who was wearing a safety belt, received minor injuries. The rear seat passenger, who was not wearing a safety belt, received non-life threatening injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
Details of Incident:
On August 25, 2007 at approximately 2:50 a.m., Town of Madison police officers were dispatched to westbound U.S Hwy 12/18 just east of Todd Drive for a single vehicle crash. A vehicle struck a tree in the median between U.S. Hwy 12/18 and Todd Drive. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the two passengers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
This crash is still under investigation but speed is considered a factor.
